Valentine's Day Tea

Valentine's Day presents the perfect opportunity to share
some of my Christmas "tea gifts" with my friends.

The Hall Burgundy Windsail Teapot was a find at a local Antique Shop.  It was purchased as a gift for my daughter but decided to add it to my own collection!

The windsail name comes from the unique shape of the top.

My tablescape starts with a cutwork tablecloth.  The tea tile is from my lastest tea collectibles.

The crocheted teapot coasters were a  Christmas gift from a special friend.  The napkins are from another linen tea set but gave me the color I needed to pull together the tablecloth and coasters.

I decided to use my Avon Cape Cod dishes to match the burgundy  teapot.  I didn't have enough dishes for all my tea ladies so mixed the Cape Cod dishes with clear glass plates to get enough place settings.

Valentine's Day Tea Menu

Shrimp Cocktail
Ham & Swiss Quiche

Red Velvet Cupcakes
Individual Cherry Cheesecakes
Heart Shaped Linzer Cookies
Cherry Heart Hand Pies
Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Victorian Rose Tea
French Vanilla  Tea

I chose shrimp cocktail in order to use the Cape Cod wine glasses and showcase the coasters.

I had purchased a set of small tart pans last summer and had been waiting for the right occassion to serve individual quiches.

In honor of Valentine's Day I pulled out my red crocheted pot holders and displayed them along with more of the Cape Cod dishes.

My favorite red transferware tea set and a collection of cupids are displayed on top of the pie safe.

I displayed a scrapbook of old Valentines and Calling Cards that belonged to my Mom.  An antique handerchief  that belonged to my Aunt (who died at age 106)  adds the desired accent to a mirror mantle.

I don't usually use tea bags at my teas but couldn't resist the packaging on these.

My tea lady friends sit down for our Valentine's Tea.

  1. Looks like one of your best teas yet! I love the Cape Cod Dishes and the Linzer Tarts. I loved the teapot that was supposed to be mine too!
